CENTRAL STATION

The High Line is a 2.33 kilometer long freight train track in western Manhattan that is no longer used as such. It was converted into a park, the High Line Park, between 2006 and 2019. It is my favorite place in Manhattan and forms a strong contrast to the high-rise buildings of New York. While the overcrowded subways race inexorably through New York, these trains stand still in the freight yard, giving the place a sense of calm.
